Morteshka and HypeTrain Digital announced the release date of the Black Book, which will arrive on August 10. Where can you find it? Well, almost everywhere. Black Book will soon be available on Steam, EGS, GOG, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Switch.
If you are looking for a demo experience before you start buying, then the game has a free prologue clip on Steam and Xbox that covers the story of Vasilisa becoming a witch, a narrative that flows into the main game.
In the basic game, Vasilisa looks for the veritable Black Book, looking for its magical powers, especially the ability to bring the dead back to life. As you travel through the dark world of Slavic folklore, card-based battles are daily tasks. As the main story and secondary content progress, you will meet friendly companions, hire demons for your business, and collect cards to strengthen your power. Make sure to keep your demons busy, because if you don't make them happy, they will start to annoy you and even hurt you! As you walk through the dark forest, various villages, towns, and other friendly places can give you a respite from the hordes of dangerous enemies and sinister supernatural enemies.
If you tried the prologue, what are your thoughts? Is the deck building and card collection RPG system right for you? After Slay the Spire, Monster Train, and many other products became available as the genre became mainstream, experimenting with them was an explosive experience. Cut down all the straws in your deck and draw with only your perfect combination of strengths, or create a huge, towering card giant that feeds on its size. If so, what is your favorite deck builder?
