F.I.S.T.: Forged In Shadow Torch Review

The Legion is a fleet of mechanical dogs that rule the neon slums of Torch City with a literal iron fist. The anthropomorphic citizens known as Furtizens reluctantly accepted the regime, but the war hero Layton Rabbit had other plans. Armed with a huge mechanical fist, lead his battery-powered oppressor against major acquisitions while putting personal scores at the center of the conflict. Hit a few heads in this side-scrolling action title, and you will understand what the Iron Dogs have learned the hard way-Layton is an incredible force that cannot be ignored. When it unlocks new attacks and string combinations, it will feel appropriately shocked and improved. Perform powerful uppercuts, play with opponents in the air, and then fire a charged punch to rush the enemy across the screen.

It will never go out of style. Despite the name of the game, there are two other types of weapons you can use. The huge drill bit turns the enemy into a bolt, and the charged whip can restrain the enemy while launching a quick attack like a one-armed octopus. Combine these three different fighting styles to create a series of amazing attack combinations that only get deeper when you unlock their respective upgrade trees. Secondary equipment such as rocket launchers and explosive decoy dolls provide hilarious compliments to your main arsenal.

Interestingly, the game has two identical stopping mechanisms: one is a waste of energy, and the other is that you can execute it freely. Unfortunately, the free version requires a lever to strike forward, which feels unnatural and unreliable. Therefore, he often plunges into the attack and feels unlucky if he succeeds in the strike. The limited use stop is assigned to a more suitable shoulder button for easier execution, but its acid power consumption is an important aspect of the battle. There are various types of robot enemies, and they challenge my mastery of skills. The teleported ninja frog keeps you moving, the aerial turret pushes the battle to the sky, and the metal warrior challenges you to think consciously, stop at the right moment and launch an attack.

Despite the challenges they provided, I was very happy to open this rogue gallery. However, once you walk into a room that looks cheap, they sometimes block the door and launch an attack. Little bosses and their larger siblings will test your skill limits and try to conquer many times, but the challenge is beneficial and fair. Exploring the vast map is the standard formula for "finding the right door-opening ability", but the smooth mobility makes it enjoyable to move around. Rayton's double jumps, wall climbing, and air sprints are expected expenses, but they have been carefully adjusted to make me believe that it can survive various platform challenges. Avoiding lasers, rotating spiked platforms, and the killer eyes of giant mechanical squids are satisfying.

Torch City’s run-down streets, billboarded houses and laid-back shopping areas are all gorgeous, thanks to the attention to detail of every dirty brick. The adventure will eventually take you outside and under the city walls to admire various popular visual effects such as snowy outposts and ancient temples. These areas are divided into independent mazes, which are fun to explore, but can have faster travel points. Warping from point A to point B usually feels like choosing your poison, which long way to renovate.

In other words, F.I.S.T. is worth exploring because of its rich rewards and collectibles. The crushed iron piggy bank will explode into a ball of coins. Look for the poster to unlock the weapon's appearance skin. Bring the scattered plant seeds to the young botanist to get cash rewards and unlock items. Rescuing the thieves from repeated mistakes will get a master key to unlock special treasure chests. Although the game lacks proper side missions, smaller narratives—such as encountering an enemy paper dealer who often provides new reasons why you should forgive him—add interest to the world. Even after spending two dozen hours with F.I.S.T. He wanted to see what else was around the corner.

Provides another good example of horizontal scrolling centered on exploration. Fans of this type will find a lot of likes. It lacks innovation, and it makes up for it by executing familiar ideas at a high level and introducing them into a fascinating world. Developer Bilibili brought a surprise.
